“I love its small footprint and nice response” 2010-01-13
By Dr. M. Dixon (Tucson, AZ USA)
I have been looking for a keyboard and mouse that would fit on the pull-out desktray in my home office built-ins. As soon as I saw this setup, I thought here’s a solution that will work. I am very happy that not only was I able to easily fit the keyboard and mouse on my pull-out tray but I am very impressed with the quality. I am a fast typist (120 wpm) and I may be hard on keyboards as I usually wear off the letters which always elicits comments from others! I like the response of both the keyboard and the mouse. I also had been getting some carpal tunnel pain with my old mouse but this one seems to have a more natural feel in my hand. Also, this mouse is more responsive than my old wired one which took some getting used to but in the long run means less work on my part! You have to adore anything that does your work for you! : ) I miss the volume keys on my old keyboard so I have ordered the media center option available on amazon Kensington SlimBlade Media Remote Control K72320US.

the number pad does not include the Alt-nnnn function needed to enter special characters. On a normal number pad on a keyboard entering alt + 0176 will produce the ° character, with number lock on. It produces nothing with this number pad.

Setup was a breeze; the most difficult part was locating the usb dongle which I thought was missing but they have it designed to transport within the mouse!

There are some nice hotkeys for PC – eject, default media player launch, backup, gadgets, search & organize which I enjoy; they require download of a driver from the kensington website.

The instruction guide says line of sight is required for USB dongle but I stuck mine in the back of my pc and it is working great.

I feel I got much more than I was looking for. Although I miss alt-0-1-7-6 and volume keys, I am very happy with the quality and everything else about this purchase.

“Great Keyboard” 2010-01-07
By A. Kelling
Love the keyboard. Very responsive keys (I am a fast typer) and quiet. Very well-constructed, solid and still a slim, sleek design. Saves space – leaves room for mouse!!!! which is the real reason I bought this key board. No cords to mess with and USB works nicely – even when plugged into my docking station – behind the computer. Like the detachable number pad but won’t use it often. Didn’t try the mouse – already have one I like. Highly recommend this keyboard.

“Almost… but Sheesh” 2009-12-06
By L. Apple (Flagstaff, AZ)
Keyboard and numberpad are a 5, the mouse is a 1 – giving us the 3 rating I’m putting down.

The keyboard feels substantial and I like the laptop like keys. I was happy to find that the number pad does not need to be connected to the keyboard to work. I was hoping it was because I like the idea of keeping the number pad up by my calculator and having it on the desk top when doing accounting entries – but having the smaller keyboard on my keyboard tray allows enough room for my mouse to travel there – even across two displays.

However, the mouse SUCKS. It doesn’t track well on anything, and mine keeps kinda getting a mind of it’s own and moving the cursor around and skipping all over the place. Making it impossible to use. I’ve unplugged it, reset it, etc. numerous times – and that sometimes helps for a few seconds – but it doesn’t last. I don’t know if it’s interference or what – but don”t have any more ideas of how to fix it. I do plan to contact Kennsington and Amazon and see what they’ll do – but my old keyboard kicked the bucket – so I’m not willing to send back BOTH in order to get a new mouse…

Frustrating.

“One of the best keyboards money can buy” 2009-11-18
By Christopher P. Tanger (Chicago, IL)

I think this is the best keyboard I’ve ever owned. It would be nice if they made a wired version.

Also, I don’t like the apple keys on it since they replace the windows menu key and displace the alt keys slightly.

Otherwise the keyboard layout is *exactly* the same as my laptop which is great for consistency. A very good layout for coding.

“Not worth the money” 2009-10-30
By kstudent22 (Washington)
First, I was very pleased with the shape and comfort of the keyboard and mouse. They both have a nice sleek design, but within a week of having the product I started having issues with the enter key getting stuck. This would cause the mouse indicator to continuously tab across the screen. I found that if I unplugged the reciever it would stop and everything would return back to normal so I dismissed it was a minor annoyance because I liked the flat sleak design or the keyboard so much. I personally dislike “ergonomic” keyboards and prefer flat keyboards similar to laptop design. That being said it didn’t happen that often, so I decided it wasn’t a big deal. Then one day about month after having the set the detachable number pad just stopped working. I tried new batteries and unplugging the reciever but nothing worked. So I contacted Amazon to exchange my set for the same type, I figured maybe mine was just defective. The new set worked just fine right out of the box…. but the next day the number pad had mysteriously died. It would seem that it was not my particular one that was defective but something with the product itself. I would not recommend this product to anyone, it is overpriced and doesn’t work.
